Frugal Food Cupboard Checklist

Which ever supermarket you shop in, they will all provide the option of a basic, smart price or value range. I have been looking for a good basic pantry/food store list recently and I found one on The Thrifty Cook, which I was able to adapt a bit for my own use. I thought it might be helpful to give you this list with the value range (where possible), from Tesco. I previously always shopped in Asda in their Smartprice range but two things have put me off Asda lately, one being their limited choice of products by comparison to Tesco and Sainsburys and the second being the limited search function. If you search for 'smartprice' or  'smart price' on the Asda site there is a search cap of 250 items, which means the full range is not displayed. If you know what you are shopping for this is not a problem, but sometimes I just want to see what is available. So, with that in mind, here is my store cupboard basics from Tesco.

I have not included tea and coffee because that is very much personal taste and we drink neither (traditional), tea or coffee in our house ( we drink this and this).

The total comes to - £45.70
Which I am sure you will agree would cost far too much in one go (and you shouldn't ever really need to buy all of these at once anyway). It is also a good case for looking after your pantry, because its amazing how much this little lot comes to.

I thought it might be helpful also, to have a printable check list, for either my pantry door, or my household binder (more on binders in another post), so I created this handy list for myself, and for anyone else who would like to use it (please link back to me if you share the link on your own blog).
